The trial of Chris Ronnie, former chief executive of the new defunct JJB Sports chain, was set to begin this week at Southwark Crown Court in London. He is charged with a £1 million fraud. A former supplier of JJB and a business partner of Ronnie are also charged in the case. The trial is likely to last eight weeks. A former finance director of Sports Direct and other personalities from the sporting goods sector are likely to testify in the hearings.
