The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has become an official member of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (Giceps) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). In this role, WFSGI intends to fight for access to sports as a fundamental right for all people, promoting investments in sports and physical education programs, and to review the conditions of bidding for major sports events. Giceps has experts from 18 countries. Among other functions, it provides technical advice, commission research and identifies good practices to develop policy recommendations. It also acts as a platform for key decision-makers to exchange experiences.
