The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has already lined up some important speakers for the next edition of the WFSGI Manufacturers Forum, which will be held in Leipzig, Germany, on Nov. 13-14. The speakers and panelists will include Herbert Hainer, chief executive of the Adidas Group, Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Karl Lagerfeld, and top executives of Yue Yuen, Apache Footwear and Porsche. WFSGI has opened a page about the conference on its website, inviting people to pre-register. The organization hopes to replicate the success of its first Manufacturers Forum, which had a full house in Taipei last November. As in Taipei last year, an interactive workshop on lean manufacturing will be organized with Porsche, and the attendees will be invited to visit its nearby factory. The Forum will discuss the integration of design and manufacturing activities and the development of faster and more effective sourcing and production processes, using examples from the automotive, aerospace, food, electronics, furniture and other industries.
