The World Snowboard Federation (WSF) has announced a new president and board. Satu Järvelä has been elected as WSF's new president on a four-year mandate. Järvelä previously sat on the board of the Ticket to Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour. She is a former ISF World Champion snowboarder, a US Open Halfpipe Champion and a former Olympian representing Finland. Her experience in the world of snowboarding has also included top positions in sports management agencies and editorial functions at snowboarding magazines. Alongside Järvelä, the newly-elected WSF board includes: Mike Mallon, Dustin Heise, Dominic Kuhn and Meinhard Trojer as vice-presidents; and Sacha Giger, Gian Luca Zanetti, Anna-Maria Strittmatter, Joakim Hammar, Rich Hegarty, Marc Bajona Carrera, Seppi Harml, Lukas Draxl, Shigeru “ISHI” Ishihara, Sven Thorgren, Julia Marino, and Arielle Gold. During the past 12 months, the WSF has been primarily focused on completing the merger process with the TTR, whose board has been dissolved.
