Three new board members have been appointed at Surftech after its acquisition earlier this year by Triple D, a Thailand-based investment company. The chairman is Trent Pedersen, president of D Technical Consulting, a subsidiary of Triple D that provides management, marketing and technical services for sports companies. He has been involved with surf companies for many years, in New Zealand as well as Thailand and the United States. Other additions to the board are Bob Rief, executive director of San Diego Sports Innovation, whose track record includes stints at Nike Golf, Reef, Sanuk, C4 Waterman and Boardworks; and David Uri, managing director of Endurance Holdings, a private equity company, who has been interim chief executive for Surftech. The leading surf board and SUP company from Santa Cruz has gone through a major makeover since the arrival of a new chief executive last year and the acquisition by Triple D.
