Three pillars in a subway station in Xujiahui have been wrapped in padding and adorned with advertisements for Adidas; the company said they were designed to get people to stretch while waiting for trains, and to raise the public's low awareness of health. However, commuters are taking out their everyday frustrations on the ads by kicking them, with one blogger even encouraging it “if you have been scolded by your boss or had a fight with your girlfriend.” Some have expressed concern that kickers could hurt themselves, or those around them.
