Independent Exhibitions (INDX) is founding a quarterly trade show for the U.K. devoted to both flavors of sportswear, athleisure and performance, in all varieties of sport. The first edition of Sports & Leisure, curated by the buying group Associated Independent Stores (AIS), is scheduled for Dec. 1-2 at the Cranmore Park Exhibition Centre in the town of Solihull, located in the West Midlands. It is open to all independent retailers. New Balance, Skechers, Hoka One One, Ronhill and Reydon Sports have confirmed their reservations. The organizers are looking at the possibility of staging four fairs focusing on different segments each year. AIS, a former licensee for Intersport in the U.K., already curates similar shows until 2019 for independent retailers of menswear, women’s wear and footwear, intimate apparel, kidswear, toys and gifts, housewares and furniture.
