The forthcoming Ispo Munich trade show will be digital, but Ispo Beijing will be held in person as planned – or almost so - on Jan. 14 to 16. Whereas China has opened again for business, Europe remains under varying degrees of Covid-19 lockdowns. To enable Europeans to take part in the Chinese event without travelling to the venue, Ispo Beijing is inaugurating digital avatars. Interested parties can go online (https://www.ispo.com/en/beijing/avatar) to register, submit a full-body picture and choose a time slot. On the selected date and time an English-speaking member of the Ispo staff will escort a cardboard cut-out of each registrant around the show. That registrant will be able to speak with the staff at any of the show’s booths through an iPad built into the cut-out. The service will cost about €350 per day.
