51,270 visitors attended the world’s largest fitness trade show, FIBO in Cologne, from April 7 to 10, according to the organizers. Internationally, the show was able to attract experts from 109 countries, including Italy, Spain, France, the U.K. and Poland, South Africa, Australia and Brazil, and from Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

“FIBO 2022 has clearly shown: The industry is looking ahead. Towards new concepts and new target groups. Driven by increasing integration of the topic of health in all market segments. True to the motto: Health is Wealth,” Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, CEO of the organizer RX Austria & Germany, said. His comment regarding the successful restart of the show after two Covid years: “I am proud that FIBO is still the pioneering platform of the industry. More than 500 exhibitors were enthusiastic about the high number and especially the high quality of the visitors.”

The focus of the show was on health. “After two years of drastically limited fitness offers, the importance of physical exercise for staying healthy has once again increased enormously,” said FIBO event director Silke Frank. “The trend of using sport to promote health, prevent illness and support healing processes is not new but has been further accelerated by the pandemic. Fitness training, healthy nutrition and wellness have long been part of holistic health prevention.”

FIBO also showed which virtual stimuli get people moving, which target groups particularly benefit from e-sports and gaming, and how great the demand is for transformative solutions. From the digitalization of customer management in studios to home training via apps and mobile training devices. “For the fitness industry, FIBO 2022 was the kick-start that everyone had waited for for so long. Many people seized the time to prepare for this moment. Many products were developed in the past two years that could now finally be presented to the masses,” says Frank. “FIBO also showed how great the need for digital solutions is – for business customers and individual users.”

FIBO 2023 will take place from April 13 to 16.
