When the trade show business was discontinued in March, Messe München’s Locations division began to look for new events and opportunities. One of these new events, in this case for end customers, is a new drive-in cinema on the northern outdoor exhibition area. Other examples of “alternative use” were the examinations of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which took place in the MOC, or the state legal examinations of the Ministry of Justice at the ICM. At the main Munich exhibition center, well known also as the venue for Ispo and OutDoor by Ispo, the mixed-reality studio called Hyper Bowl by ROE Visual was set up in Hall C5 with a 270-degree, 70 million-pixel LED wall available for filming, photo shoots and product presentations until September. In the meantime, Messe München keeps acquiring additional new events for its venues. With the 2nd European Cycling Championships on Aug. 11-15, 2022, to be held partly in Hall C1, a new customer from the sports sector was also found. The cyclists will compete in a total of nine disciplines. Exactly 50 years after the Olympic Summer Games in Munich in 1972, most of the events will take place in the city’s Olympic Park.
