Two major sports nutrition brands, Powerbar and Musashi, have been sold by Nestlé to an American group, Post Holdings. Powerbar is better known in Europe than Musashi, which is mainly sold in Australia. Reportedly, the two brands of premium bars, powders and gels have been sold for twice their annual combined turnover of around 200 million Swiss francs (€164.0m-$224.2m) to Post, which owns brands such as Dymatize and Supreme. The sale will allow Post Holdings to form an active nutrition group with annual sales of nearly $550 million. Nestlé has been divesting under-performing assets. Last November, the Swiss food company sold a weight-loss brand, Jenny Craig.
