Two veteran activewear designers, Rolf Günther and Nora Kühner, ran a new kind of workshop during the recent Ispo Munich show, challenging 25 fashion students from different countries to come up with smart and innovative concepts for winter sports clothing that can be worn in the snow or in a snowless city, depending on the weather situation and the environment. The results of the workshop, called Masterclass, were shown on the big screen located in the West Entrance of the fair on Tuesday afternoon, but only a few visitors saw them because of a bomb alert that closed off the area for 45 minutes. Günther and Kühner have been among the leaders of IDEAS, the international sports designers' association that we helped to found some 20 years ago. Other designers have left the association, which now has 15 members, but it continues to exhibit at Ispo and other trade shows, and it has gone back to its roots by staging international meetings to determine future color trends.
