Two well-known former sports champions are among the investors in Hyperice, one of the start-ups that won the right to a free stand at this year's Ispo Munich show in the context of the Ispo Brandnew Awards. They are Bixente Lizarazu, the former French International team player and defender for the Bordeaux and Bayern Munich football teams, and Guy Forget, the French tennis champion. They are shareholders in the European operations of Hyperice along with Steve Veytia, a European sports industry veteran who has been involved in building up many companies in the U.S. and Europe including Northwave, Switch, Billabong and most recently, Supra. Forget and Lizarazu are also acting as ambassadors for this sports recovery brand with innovative products in cryotherapy and muscle relief. Besides NBA champions like Blake Griffin, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, the list of current sportsmen that are using and/or endorsing this patented American muscle recovery system has grown bigger with the addition of high-caliber players such as Luc Abalo (handball), Wesley Fofana (rugby) and Imanol Harinordoquy, (rugby), who is also a shareholder. Ulhlsport continues to represent Hyperice in the sporting goods retail sector in France and the U.K.
