Uhlsport Iberica is taking over the distribution of Spalding balls and basketball boards in Spain and Portugal, replacing a long-time Spanish distributor, Eje Deportes, which recently took the Mitre brand on board. Set up four years ago, the Spanish subsidiary of Uhlsport was already marketing Spalding apparel as part of a license agreement covering 34 countries. Uhlsport's logistic platform is already being used in those countries for the supply of Spalding balls. Uhlsport's own offices already sell Spalding balls and backboards directly in France, Germany, Austria, Sweden and Norway, making the company a major factor in football, handball and basketball.
