Under Armour, Fanatics and Major League Baseball (MLB) have signed a 10-year partnership that makes Under Armour (UA) the official uniform provider to MLB. The agreement marks UA's first-ever uniform deal for a professional league. The partnership will begin in the 2020 MLB season. Majestic Athletic, which has long been MLB's uniform provider, will therefore continue for the next three seasons. Meanwhile, Nike will be the MLB's official baselayer provider, a right that will also be passed on to UA. Beginning in the 2020 MLB season, UA will be the exclusive MLB provider of all on-field uniform components, including jerseys, baselayer, game-day outerwear and training apparel, for all 30 MLB clubs. Fanatics will be granted product licensing rights to handle the manufacturing and distribution of UA and Fanatics fan gear, including jerseys at retail, name and number products and post-season apparel. UA and Fanatics are planning to offer a range of new fan gear apparel and accessories at retail prior to the 2020 season. Both UA and Fanatics are well-established partners of MLB. UA's partnership with the league dates back to 2000 as an official baselayer supplier. In 2011, the brand also became the official performance footwear partner of MLB. Fanatics' partnership history with MLB dates back to 2002.
