California-based United Sports Brands (USB) has agreed to a multi-brand Commerce-as-a-Service (CaaS) deal with Nogin, also based in California. CaaS is a cloud-based approach that allows brands and merchants to handle e-commerce while avoiding having to purchase, implement and manage the underlying infrastructure. As part of a three-year agreement, USB brands will plug into the Nogin Intelligent Commerce Platform to deliver e-commerce to their consumers. Nogin’s software platform is a cloud-based, e-commerce environment purpose-built for brands selling direct-to-consumer (DTC) and through online channel partners. In addition to Nogin’s full-stack e-com platform, USB brands will receive proprietary modules such as the Company’s Customer Data Platform, Social Commerce and Predictive Automation technologies, explained Nogin. USB owns a series of protective and performance sports equipment brands, including Nathan, Pearl Izumi, Shock Doctor, McDavid, Cutters, and Glukos. USB is a portfolio company of Bregal Partners, an international private equity firm headquartered in New York City.
