United Sports Brands is the new name of the combined global organization resulting from the already announced merger of Shock Doctor Sports and McDavid. It will serve as the corporate parent of the two companies' brands: Shock Doctor, McDavid, Cutters and XO. United Sports Brands will move to a new global headquarters with a 120,000-square-foot distribution center in Fountain Valley, California by early 2016. Shock Doctor's current location in Minnetonka, Massachusetts will house finance, customer service, operations and information technology for the whole group. McDavid's facility in Chicago will gradually close down from this October. McDavid Japan and McDavid Europe, with its offices in Belgium and Switzerland, will continue to operate to support sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution of the entire brand portfolio. The executive team around Tony Armand, confirmed as chief executive of United Sports Group, will comprise former leaders of Shock Doctor and McDavid, plus new ones. Patrick Cloots, the former international director of McDavid, will act as senior vice president of international for the whole group. We could not determine at press time the fate of Paul Rutherford, former European and international sales director of Shock Doctor.
