VF Corporation has appointed Stefano Saccone to run Vans' European business in the position of vice president and general manager of the brand for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), starting next April 1. One of his challenges will be to help the group to raise Vans' annual sales from around $3 billion to $5 billion by 2023. The 46-year-old American joined VF in 2012 as vice present of sales and marketing in the EMEA for another VF brand, Napapijri, after working in management positions for Nike, Ralph Lauren, Procter & Gamble and Ermenegildo Zegna in the U.S., France, Switzerland and Italy. He most recently served as vice president and general manager of another VF brand, Eastpak, based in Belgium. At Vans, Saccone will take the place of Jan Van Leeuwen, who was appointed last month as the new vice present and general manager of The North Face for the EMEA region.
