Travis Campbell, a former consultant with Andersen and a former Deloitte consultant who had been in charge of emerging brands at VF Corp. until a few weeks ago, has acquired all the assets of Eagle Creek, a daypack and travel luggage brand founded in Colorado in 1975 that VF took over in 2007. VF, which had already announced its planned discontinuation in June, indicated that there had received other expressions of interest for the brand. Before his appointment as president of emerging brands at VF in March 2020, Campbell was president of Smartwool in 2017/18 and then general manager of The North Face for the Americas. Oliver Messing, who has been with Eagle Creek Europe for 18 years, most recently as its managing director, plans a smooth transition in servicing the brand’s retail customers in 21 European countries.
