The inaugural edition of the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) will take place from Feb. 28 to March 1, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. Messe Frankfurt (HK), which co-organizes the event with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE), said that Vietnam was identified as “the ideal location for ASEAN’s new comprehensive textile platform” due to the country’s strategic location and abundant labor force, combined with favorable trade agreements like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), and 15 free trade agreements covering more than 60 countries and regions. Apparel-related products make up the largest part of the country’s textile exports.

Despite a globally challenging business environment, many companies in the wider textile sector have recorded sales growth and believe in the sector’s prospects, added Messe Frankfurt in a statement, pointing to the “concrete interest in showcasing at VIATT” demonstrated by multiple suppliers. At VIATT, exhibitors from around the world will showcase apparel fabrics, fibers, yarns, garments and home textiles alongside the latest innovations in technical textiles and nonwovens, printing technology, and textile processing.
