Vista Outdoor's management indicated that it will likely sell its Savage brand of firearms before the planned divestiture of its sports protection unit, which includes Giro, Bell and Blackburn. As previously reported, it has already signed an agreement for the sale of Bollé, Cébé and Serengeti to an investment fund, withholding details at this stage. It plans to keep Camelbak and other sports-related brands. The company's total sales declined by 7 percent in the first quarter ended on July 1, with drops in sport protection and hydration partly offset by a 25 percent increase in sales of outdoor cooking products. Vista also mentioned a 14 percent gain in golf and 14 percent higher direct-to-consumer sales for Camelbak.
