The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has emerged as the leader among sports authorities in the 7th edition of the #SportOnSocial League Table, a social media performance benchmarking tool established every year by research, digital and creative agency Redtorch. FIVB ranked second last year when the top spot was occupied by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The “League Table 2023” measures the social media performance of Olympic International Federations during 2022 across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok. TikTok was included for the first time in this year’s report.

FIFA ranked second among the 2022 overall digital champions, followed in the top 5 by World Athletics, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), and the BWF. The biggest climber in the ranking was World Triathlon, which climbed ten places to #26, driven by fan growth/video views capturing a larger audience. The International Skating Union (ISU) was the best-performing international winter sports federation.

By social media, World Aquatics holds on to #1 ranking on Facebook. Volleyball World climbed to #1 on Instagram. World Athletics climbed five places and reached #1 on Twitter, driven by high-performing event highlights/celebration of achievements by female athletes. Finally, FIFA dominates on YouTube and TikTok.
