Vulcabras has been certified by three Brazilian industry bodies, as a most sustainable shoe manufacturer in the country. The Brazilian parent of Olympikus, which manufactures 25 million pairs of shoes a year at its own factories in the country, It is the first one in the sector to be using 100 percent wind power at some of its facilities. It also re-uses between 40 and 100 percent of the water it uses at two of them. In 2020, Vulcabras recycled 127 tons of plastics, 161 tons of EVA and 35 tons of TPU. It uses sugar cane in the EVA soles of its newest Olympikus sneaker, Corre ECO. It is also employs disabled people for 5 percent of its administrative staff.
