While moving into basketball (see the story in this issue), Puma has signed a long-term boot contract with Romelu Lukaku, a 25-year-old member of the Manchester United team who has been the highest all-time scorer on the Belgian national team. He signed four goals for Belgium in the first four matches of the current World Cup in Russia, making him the second-best scorer in the tournament on a par with Cristiano Ronaldo. The contract is described as the biggest personal endorsement deal ever signed by the Wild Cat with a sports professional, possibly with the exception of Boris Becker. Of course, Lulaku is wearing an Adidas jersey during the World Cup, and he will continue to wear an Adidas jersey while playing for ManU.
