Willy Bogner will switch over to a new licensee for its handbags, belts, other accessories and luggage. The current contract with Unlimited Accessories expires in August this year, so from spring 2019, Bogner bags will be made under license by Müller & Meirer Lederwarenfabrik as part of a move by Bogner to reposition itself within the premium and luxury market segments. According to Textilwirtschaft, the challenge for Müller & Meirer is to lower the price of Bogner bags, which hovers just under the €1,000 threshold, and to make the collection more modern and distinctive in a highly competitive market. Müller & Meirer, a German manufacturer from Kirn, near the border with Luxembourg, produces bags for ten fashion brands, including Comma, Gerry Weber, Mustang and Strellson, as well as handbags and shoes for Joop.
