Wilson is launching Fit AI, an innovative technology that uses artificial intelligence and is “set to change the future of golf club fitting,” the brand said. The technology combines Wilson’s “black box algorithm” with Blast Motion’s motion analysis technology.
Wilson Fit AI is a mobile app-based fitting solution that integrates a Bluetooth-enabled Blast Motion sensor into a standard grip. Club fitters utilizing a Wilson iron with a Blast Motion sensor embedded into the grip will be able to provide real-time feedback about various aspects of a player’s swing, from shaft loading to swing tempo, face closing rates and more. The technology uses a combination of high-G and low-G accelerometers and gyro to capture around 12,000 data points per swing. Wilson’s black box algorithm then processes the information to generate a custom-fit iron recommendation, explained the company.
Wilson Fit AI powered by Blast Motion will be available at club-fitting retailers across the US beginning on Jan. 17, 2024.
