Wintersteiger is launching a new mobile alpine ski service station on the slopes of Norway this winter. The Alpine Mobile Center (AMC) is a purpose-fitted truck which holds the Austrian machine engineering group's latest professional racing-ski servicing system, a shop and a boot-fitting station. Wintersteiger has partnered with Norsk Aplineservice, whose owners, Morton Mork and Morten Breivik, are involved in youth alpine ski racing, to test the mobile station scheme in Norway. Wintersteiger has packed its high-quality Discovery servicing system into a truck that can park within earshot of the ski slopes for the pilot project. The automated equipment doesn't require any local resources to operate, relying on power, compressed air, ventilation, heating and water from within the truck. The idea of the project is to give young skiers aged 8 to 19, with limited financial resources, access to professional ski servicing during the ski season. The partners are offering a sponsored package, so young racers need to take on only part of the cost.
