Wintersteiger, the Austrian manufacturer of ski maintenance and service machinery and storing solutions, appointed Florestan von Boxberg, 54, as its new chief executive, or head of its board of management. He takes the place left vacant a year ago by the departure of Reiner Thalacker. Von Boxberg worked as project manager at the Price Waterhouse management consultancy, as commercial manager and deputy managing director at Total Feuerschutz and as managing director at Lenser Filtration. In 2011, he was appointed as managing director of one of the European operations of Jason Finishing Group, which operates globally with 1,700 employees and subsidiaries in 14 countries. He was also on the board of its parent company in the U.S. Von Boxberg started to work for the Wintersteiger Group on Sept. 1. In his new position, he will also be directly responsible for sales, marketing and human resources. The executive board of the Wintersteiger Group now consists of Von Boxberg, CEO; Harold Kostka, chief financial officer; and Christian Rauscher, chief technical officer.
