Wolverine Worldwide says it will likely record a double-digit drop in its European sales during the current third quarter of its financial year. Sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, which account for about one-quarter of the group's total revenues, have been affected by dodgy weather and economic uncertainty. In the U.K., which represents around 40 percent of the region's turnover, London residents left the city during the Olympic Games and tourists did not spend money on footwear. Wolverine's main brand, Merrell, continues to show strong sales in the U.S., where prices have stabilized.
