Working under the supervision of the French Royer Group, New Balance raised its sales in Germany by 62 percent in 2013, in comparison to the previous year, after introducing a very strict distribution system and separating itself from many clients in the course of 2012. From July 2013, New Balance has stopped taking on new clients for its lifestyle collection. Currently, the brand works with 250 German retailers for the sale of its lifestyle collection and with an additional 400 retailers in Germany for its performance collection.
