Xebio reports a 51.6 percent increase in net income to 3,724 million yen (€28.2m-$33.2m) for the first half ended Sept. 30. While the total floor space remained flat at 193,098 square meters, the Japanese sporting goods retailer's sales were up by 3.4 percent to ¥116.8 billion (€884.6m-$1,042.3m) during the period, with an increase of 18.3 percent in winter sports to ¥226 million (€1.70m-$2.01m). Golf was up by 8.3 percent to ¥31.8 billion (€240m-$284m) and general sporting gained 2.4 percent to ¥47.9 billion (€362m-$427m). Outdoor gear fell by 0.9 percent to ¥18.2 billion (€137.8m-$162.3m).
