Xponential Fitness, the world’s largest franchisor of health and wellness brands, announced that it has finalized the divestiture of its Stride Fitness brand to Stride Fitness Franchising Inc., owned by Shaun Grove. Grove is currently the President of Rumble Boxing. Founded in 2017 by Misa Dugally and Katie Ownbey and added to the Xponential portfolio in 2019, Stride offers treadmill-based HIIT and strength-training programs.
“We are pleased to transition the Stride brand to an operator with almost a decade of experience owning and operating franchises prior to joining Xponential,” said Anthony Geisler, CEO of Xponential Fitness. “After considering the potential alternatives for Stride, we concluded that this transaction was the best option for Xponential and the Stride brand.”
In conjunction with the announcement, Xponential has begun a search for a successor to Grove as President of Rumble Boxing. Grove has agreed to remain in place until a successor is found.
As of Dec. 31, 2023, Stride Fitness locations represented less than 1 percent of Xponential’s total open studios. The sale of Stride Fitness is not expected to have a material impact on revenue in 2024. Xponential has not received any consideration for the sale and will support the new owner in the transition.
