Yonex reported a 45 percent jump in comprehensive net income to 455.5 million yen (€3.5m-$4.2m) for the first quarter through June, benefiting from a positive foreign currency swing of ¥222 million (€1.7m-$2.0m). Revenues went up by 4 percent to ¥15.91 billion (€123.6m-$145.0m). Boosted by badminton, sales grew by 4 percent in Japan to ¥10.18 billion (€79.1m-$92.8m) and by 5 percent in China to ¥4.39 billion (€34.1m-$40.0m). They rose by 10 percent to ¥514 million (€4.0m-$4.7m) in North America, with a gain in Canada. European revenues were flat at ¥638 million (€5.0m-$5.8m), but they went up in local currencies.
