Yonex' sales of tennis racquets went up in North America and Europe in the first six months of its financial year, ended on Sept. 30, driven by Naomi Osaka's big victory at the U.S. Tennis Open, but badminton sales declined. Total revenues dropped by 5 percent to ¥30.6 billion (€237.4m-$272.1m), also affected by destocking in China and broadly lower sales in Japan. A negative currency effect of ¥423 million (€3.3m-$3.8m) contributed to depress net income by 23 percent to ¥1,026 million (€8.0m-$9.1m).
