Yonex, which is gearing up to begin direct sales in the Chinese market, reported a 48 percent increase in net income to 1,694 million yen (€12.4m-$14.2m) on 10 percent higher revenues of ¥47,619 million (€348.6m-$399.1m) for the financial year ended March 31. Sales grew by 18 percent in Europe to about ¥2.4 billion (€17.6m-$20.1m), by 20 percent in North America to ¥1.6 billion (€11.7m-$13.4m), by 10 percent in Japan to ¥41.5 billion (€303.8m-$347.8m) and by 15 percent in the rest of Asia to ¥1.6 billion (€11.7m-$13.4m). The Japanese company is budgeting increases of 9 percent in sales and 18 percent in operating income for the current financial year.
