Zai, the Swiss brand of high-end skis, is ceasing production at its own site in the Swiss town of Disentis, but the company's new investors are reportedly planning to outsource it elsewhere in Switzerland. The company's founder and designer, Simon Jacomet, is leaving. Benedikt Germanier, a former global strategist for Credit Suisse who worked also for the UBS Investment Bank, is taking full responsibility for the company's management. He had been appointed as its chief executive in 2009. Zai has reportedly developed a new line of skis for autumn/winter 2018/19. The brand plans to come out again with other products under its own name, including helmets and skiwear.
