IT-EX is the name of a new association of Italian international trade fairs, created with the objective of promoting the interests of the sector and its internationalization. The new body, established on Feb. 7, was founded by Fondazione Fiera Milano with AIMPES Servizi, A.N.C.I. Servizi, ASSOMAC Servizi, CEU – Centro Esposizioni UCIMU, EICMA, Federlegno Arredo Eventi, Fiera Milano, GE.FI, IES, Lineapelle, Mifur, Proposte, RX Italy and S.I.TEX. Antonio Intiglietta, president of GE.FI, has been appointed President of the new entity.
Italian trade fairs attract 7.7 million visitors each year, 13 percent of them from abroad, and generate a combined turnover of around €1.1 billion, but only less than a third of the events are truly international. The new association will work to attract more and more visitors and exhibitors from abroad and to support the organization of Italian trade fairs internationally.
