A Swedish venture capital firm, Scope, has become the majority owner of Klättermusen, a Swedish producer of outdoor clothing, investing 30 million Swedish kronor (€34.9m-$47.2m) into the company. Jonas Meerits, a former chief executive of J.Lindeberg and a co-investor in Scope, will be the new chairman of the board. Staffan Rönn, who has been running the Scandinavian operations of Katadyn, a Swiss outdoor company, will also serve on the board. Peter and Eva Askulv, who founded Klättermusen in 1984, remain as shareholders, with Peter serving as acting CEO. The recruitment of a new CEO is underway and, once the right person is in place, Peter's main focus will be on design and product development, with Eva focusing on marketing (more in The Outdoor Industry Compass).
