A total of 25 brands in 25 different product categories were honored with the prestigious Plus X Award for “most innovative brand of the year 2014,” including those of three sporting goods brands. Miha Bodytech, a German manufacturer of workout devices and fitness equipment, won the award in the category of sport and fitness appliances, X-Bionic won the same award in the category of shoes and apparel, and Silbaerg, a snowboard manufacturer from Chemnitz, won the award in the category of sport and fitness equipment. Maier Sports has been given another Plus X Award for “the best product of the year 2014” in the category of shoes and apparel for its “Tamesi” outdoor jacket. This PFC-free outdoor jacket won an additional Plus X Award in the category of high quality, design and functionality. A pair of technical shorts for running, “run shorts 2.0” from CEP, a German brand of socks and sporting goods apparel, won a Plus X Award in the category of functionality and high quality. Last but not least, Porsche Design Sport, a cooperation of the Adidas and Porsche Design brands, won a Red Dot Award for a new running shoe, “Bounce S4,” which also won a Plus X Award in the category of high quality, design and ergonomics as well as the mention “best product of the year 2014.”
