Accell Netherlands is to open a 10,000-square-meter cycling experience center in Ede. The new space will be called “De Fietser” (The Cyclist) and its opening is scheduled for summer 2015. De Fietser is expected to attract 100,000 visitors every year and to strengthen the market position of Accell's brands Batavus, Koga, Van Nicholas, Sparta, Juncker, XLC, Lapierre, Ghost, Haibike and Loekie in the country. The new center will include a test track of about half a kilometer as well as a theme park where visitors will have a chance to discover everything about bikes, with various outdoor trails and bikes available for testing. The bicycle museum, currently based at Batavus in Heerenveen, will also be part of the new center.
