According to a recent report from Sportlab, a Paris-based market research company specializing in sports, Adidas and Nike enjoy the best brand awareness among French consumers as far as sports is concerned. In football, the brand that was most mentioned by consumers was Adidas with 35 percent, followed by Nike with 22 percent, whereas Puma was mentioned by only 5 percent of the survey participants. This is noteworthy since France's équipe tricolore switched from Adidas as sponsor to Nike two years ago. For tennis, in return, Nike was ahead of Adidas by 3 percentage points and of Lacoste by 2 percentage points.
