According to its annual report, Nike made more Nike branded footwear in Vietnam than in China during its latest financial year, ended last May 31. It sourced 42 percent of the volume from Vietnam as compared to 30 percent in China and 26 percent from Indonesia. The report also showed that the group's spending on demand creation rose last year by 5 percent to $2,745 million, with a rise of 8 percent in constant currencies. The group's expenses on demand creation, which include endorsement contracts, advertising, promotion, brand events and retail presentation, had risen by 11 percent in the previous financial year. They were inflated in both periods by the group's actions around the Olympic Games and the Euro 2012 football championships.
