Adanola has appointed Niran Chana as its new Chief Executive Officer to spearhead the brand’s global expansion efforts.
Chana, previously the Chief Commercial Officer at Gymshark, assumes his new role effective June 20. His tenure at Gymshark saw significant achievements, including driving global sales growth and overseeing key functions such as merchandising and marketing. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Gymshark’s landmark deal with General Atlantic in 2020, propelling the brand’s valuation to £1bn (€1.12bn).
Hyrum Cook, Adanola’s founder and CEO for nine years, will transition to a more creative role within the company. Despite stepping down from the CEO position, Cook will collaborate with Chana to shape the brand’s vision and international expansion strategy.
Adanola, headquartered in Manchester, experienced remarkable growth with a 311 percent increase in turnover for the financial year 2022 to 2023. Moving forward, Adanola aims to expand its presence in the US market, enhance its digital capabilities, and further diversify its retail partnerships.
Commenting on the appointment, Cook expressed confidence in Chana’s ability to lead Adanola into its next phase of growth. “Niran’s experience and knowledge of the industry will be an asset to the business as we enter a very exciting growth trajectory,” he said. In response, Chana expressed his enthusiasm for joining Adanola, highlighting the brand’s strong position in the market. “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Adanola this summer,” he commented. “Adanola is at the forefront of the consumer sector, and their results to date speak for themselves.”
