Adidas boosts its athlete lineup with rising NFL stars Xavier Legette, Adonai Mitchell, Rome Odunze, and Michael Penix, Jr. just ahead of the NFL draft. Chris McGuire, Adidas vice president of Sports Marketing, expressed excitement about the new additions: “Rome, Michael, Adonai, and Xavier are among the most promising prospects in the draft following exceptional careers at their respective collegiate programs.”
McGuire also highlighted the significance of retaining Odunze and Penix, Jr., who became Adidas’ inaugural NIL football athletes in October 2023. Both players led the University of Washington Huskies to the National Championship as team captains. Odunze, known for his record-setting performance with 1,640 receiving yards in 2023, secured a spot as a Biletnikoff Award Finalist and a consensus first-team All-American.
Penix, Jr., recipient of the 2023 Maxwell Award for the best player in college football, led the nation with 4,903 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. His exceptional leadership earned him a Heisman Trophy finalist nomination.
