Adidas got a top honor at the Cannes International Advertising Festival for an outdoor poster campaign in China, touting that country’s upcoming Beijing Games and featuring Chinese Olympians Hu Jia, Shui Fei Fei and Zheng Zhi. The three stripes won the first Gold Lion awarded to a campaign in China. The China campaign "Together in 2008, Impossible Is Nothing" was described by Adidas a the largest ever created and rolled out by the company in any single country, surpassing even effort it made for the 2006 World Cup in its home country of Germany. The outdoor effort, developed in collaboration with TBWA’s office in Shanghai, focuses on the support the Chinese nation gives to its competing athletes to make the impossible possible, and sends a message that the Olympic spirit is not the sole domain of the athletes. Adidas is the official sports partner of Beijing 2008 and an official partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee. The company will soon begin marketing its "Made for Beijing" Olympic collection of footwear and apparel for 27 of the 28 Olympic sports (the company is excluding equestrian), and for the first time, the products being worn by competing athletes will be available to consumers.
