Adidas has announced an initiative to help remove barriers faced by girls and women in sports. The She Breaks Barriers initiative expands on the #creatorsunite conversation, launched by the brand in August 2018, and is meant to inspire and support the next generation of female athletes, creators and leaders. To launch the initiative, Adidas premiered its “She Breaks Barriers” film during NBC's Sunday Night Football on Dec. 9. The one-minute film, narrated by Pharrell Williams, highlights the challenges that female athletes typically face. The company has also released an open letter in which it invites everyone to help create the future of women's sports. According to the company, a series of new partnerships will be introduced to focus on three areas: providing access, removing stereotypes and addressing inequality for female athletes at all levels and ages.
