Adidas has installed what it is calling a “virtual footwear wall” in its flagship store in London. The wall lets customers choose footwear from a virtual shelf of products through a touch-screen, and they can pre-order the shoes they pick. The shopper can turn the 3D images to see the shoes from different angles and zoom in for details. Adidas also provides additional product information and supporting videos. The launch is to help mark the release of the company's Adizero F50 Micoach football boots, which will be sold through the wall. The boots have a built-in Micoach chip that lets players look at their speed, distance and work rate while competing.
