Adidas has partnered with the New Zealand men's rugby union team, the All Blacks, to design new training apparel for the team made from recovered ocean plastic. The jersey is part of the first Adidas Parley rugby collection, which continues the brand's relationship with Parley for the Oceans, the ocean conservation group. The jersey features a special graphic inspired by a breaking wave, to highlight the link with the oceans. Adidas has also created a T-shirt, a hoodie and shorts from recycled ocean plastic. The collaboration is meant to raise awareness of the issue of marine pollution and how sports can help drive solutions. In 2018, some members of the All Blacks team attended an educational session with Parley for the Oceans' ambassadors on Motuihe Island, in an area protected by the New Zealand Department of Conservation.
