Adidas has signed up Nick Young from the Los Angeles Lakers, as part of its latest drive to invest in prominent U.S. team sports players. Young announced the deal when he turned up at a game against the Houston Rockets donning a pair of Adidas Yeezys, the shoes designed for Adidas by Kanye West. Earlier this year Adidas obtained an endorsement deal with James Harden from the Houston Rockets, reportedly worth $200 million for 13 years. Adidas is upping its investments in deals with individual players as it stands to lose exposure on basketball courts with the end of its NBA apparel deal, which was will be taken over by Nike from the 2017-18 season. Other U.S. basketball players endorsing Adidas include Damian Lillard and Derrick Rose.
