Adidas has unveiled its new, limited-edition adizero f50 boot designed by Yohji Yamamoto, the award-winning Japanese fashion designer. The German brand will sell just 2,000 pairs of the new f50s boot globally. The Yamamoto f50 uses the same technology as the current adizero f50 range, offering lightness and precision. The front of the boot is adorned with a pair of imperial lion-dogs who, in ancient times, guarded the emperors of Japan. This traditional design has been combined with modern Japan's sci-fi culture, creating a fusion between the past and the future. Yamamoto said that this particular design is supposed to give players extra confidence to express themselves without fear. The graphic stretches all the way around the shoe while Adidas' logo is featured on the back and on the tongue. The new boot will be worn by a number of Adidas athletes in the coming weeks, including Gyasi Zardes of LA Galaxy, David Alaba of Bayern Munich, Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan and Jonny Steele of Red Bull New York, among others.
